Vettel made his Formula One debut in 2007 and reached the pinnacle of his career with Red Bull, winning the title every year between 2010 and 2013. He began working at Ferrari in 2015 before moving to Aston Martin in 2021.

The information represents a significant shift in the driver market for Formula One for the next season, opening up a place with Aston Martin alongside Lance Stroll.

Aston Martin published a statement from Vettel in which he stated, “The choice to retire has been a tough one for me to take, and I have spent a lot of time thinking about it.”

“At the end of the year, I want to take a little more time to consider what I will concentrate on next; becoming a parent, it is quite obvious to me that I want to spend more time with my family.”

However, we are not saying farewell today. Rather, it’s about expressing “thank you” to everyone, especially the supporters, without whose ardent backing Formula 1 would not be possible.”

Before receiving a mid-season promotion with Toro Rosso later in the year, Vettel made his Formula One debut in the 2007 United States Grand Prix in a one-off appearance for BMW. With Toro Rosso, he won F1’s youngest-ever title in 2008. He then switched to Red Bull for the 2009 season, where he reached the pinnacle of his career by winning the world championship every year from 2010 to 2013.

In 2017, and 2018, Vettel competed for the world championship, but Lewis Hamilton of Mercedes prevailed on both occasions. Vettel joined Ferrari in 2015. He departed Maranello at the end of 2020 and will finish his Formula One career at Aston Martin.

Lawrence Stroll, executive chairman and team owner of Aston Martin, expressed his sincere gratitude to Sebastian for everything he has done for the company over the last 18 months. “We made it plain to him that we wanted him to stay on board with us for the next year, but in the end, he took the decision that he believed was best for his family and himself, and we of course accept that.

He has competed in several excellent races for us, and working with our engineers has benefited greatly from his experience ” It has been an honor to have the chance to work with one of Formula One’s all-time greats. He will continue to compete for us until the 2022 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, which will be his 300th appearance in a Grand Prix. We’ll give him a spectacular send-off.”
